My son Caleb was born on October 21, 2006. He was diagnosed with Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome six weeks before he was born. We were devastated with the news that when our son arrived he would be fighting for his life. We were given three choices a three stage surgery(Norwood Procedure), heart transplant, or (the unthinkable) Death. We choose the three stage surgery. Along with this choice came a long road. The most difficult seeing your baby helpless and on a breathing machine. In spite of all his obstacles Caleb is truly a miracle and a blessing from God. I am thankful for every day with him.
Janyiah Grace was born on October 14, 2006 following her birth it became apparent that she was going to need special attention. In her short time here she endured numerous surgeries; the removal of small intestines, heart surgery, and several to correct her vision. After all of this her liver began to fail. While awaiting her much needed transplant and unfortunate error occurred due to hospitals negligence Janyaih's journey was cut short and she went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2007.
My daughter Lauren has taught me so much. Taught me lessons on life, love and having complete trust and faith in in God. I found out at 22 weeks that Lauren would be born with a rare heart defect called Shone's Complex. The medical community calls this condition a condition with half a heart but that is one thing my daughter does not have. She has had three open heart surgeries and a million sticks with a needle but her strength and smile are insurmountable. Her battles with sensory issues and also feeding issues have been difficult but her laughter and kisses melt all the pain and anxiety I have. Her future is in God's hands and I rejoice in knowing that his plans for her are so much greater than my own.

Psalms 55:22
Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.
Laurens 1st birthday Party

It's a beautiful day up in heaven. Jesus is rounding up his tiniest angels, to go live on earth, and be born. One of the sweetest angels says to Jesus "I don't want to leave, I like it here, and I will miss you". He reassures the scared little angel that everything will be okay, and that she is just going for a visit. She is still not swayed on this idea. So Jesus kneels down, and says, "How about if you leave half of your heart here with me and take the other half with you, will that be okay?" The angel smiles and says, "I guess that will work". But the little angel is still a little scared. She asks,"Will I be okay with only half of my heart?" Jesus replies,"Of course you will, I have other angels there that will help out, and you will be fine." Then Jesus gives the angel more details about his plan. He says "When you are born, your mommy will be scared, so you have to be strong, and when you feel weak just remember that I have the other half of your heart". "Enjoy your time with your family, play and laugh everyday." "And when its time to come back to heaven, I will make your heart whole again. Always remember that you are not broken, just torn between two loves."
